Good day,
I have been trying to get my k2 running smoothly for a while.. but after checking
Timing,
Carb sync,
Points and gap,
Colortuned
..and using..
new coils, condensers, resistors and spark plugs..
my problem is almost unresolved.
the main dilemma is, when I check the timing with a strobe light gun, i have a good result by using the clamp on plugs 2, 3 and 4. Unfortunately 1 is a no show.
Strangely I have a decent spark on that plug.
Any suggestion to stop me going crazy?
thanks

Try another plug.
I recently had a massive spark on a cylinder and could not get bike to fire. Changed plug and hey presto. Plug was breaking down under compression.

I too have had that on my Pegaso new plug with a nice big spark but it wouldn't run when fitted in the bike.

the bike fires up nicely, but after all (swapping plugs included) still no reading from strobe gun.. on plug 1/4.
The timing is set spot on on number 4 (still trying to figure out why..)
thanks

Only heard this am no expert, but read that if it's an inductive pickup then turning it over on the HT lead sometimes makes a difference.

thanks tried that already.

Never had a lot of luck with inductive strobes, only ever use static timing
