Hi all.
In particular Sister Julie.
Am acquaintance of mine said that on a regular basis spray the block with wd 40 to help clear any dirt. Is this advisable
-
Sister Julie....Matron if you please 😀😀😀😀 Personally I don't see the point in WD40, unless your engine is bare alloy, which I doubt it is, then a silicone spray may help but not on Honda painted engines. I'm a bucket and sponge girl myself, nice hot soapy water does the job a treat. I do like an oily rag to wipe over the frame / black bits etc, it doesn't really achieve anything on powder coated frames but it was a regular thing on my old Brit bikes, so I still do it.

Obviously a good supply of external oil there to call upon,! :P

Julie...my front brake squeaks something awful should I oil them too? :-\
-
Sister Julie, my tyres need a clean. Will an oily rag do a good job? :)

Steady on chaps, nothing wrong with oily rag wipedowns, its much under estimated, on the appropriate parts. You could try the tyres and discs.......let me know how you get on 😀😀😀

Ah, I get it, pick on Julie day is it 🙄🙄🙄 Yes Ken, for contact Dermatitis I would suggest a good rub down with wet and dry to remove the corrosion and apply copious amounts of oil, I suggest Mineral, don't forget to wear gloves though 😀😀

Dont larf but back in the 70's a doctor told me to wash hands with parrafin when i had dermatitis

Indeed they did advise that back then Bryan and some Eczema and Psoriasis relief creams are still paraffin based today.

Sorry Matron. I did not mean to offend you. In fact I was so upset with myself that I dashed with a decoy bedpan into the sluice room to have a cry.

;D ;D ;D ;D You did not offend me Ricardo. Throughout my Nursing career I had had many titles depending on the job in hand, but whatever to role or job description, I was a Nurse first and foremost.
I was thinking more about the WD40, that would smell horrible on a hot engine !!
Now Dr. stop hugging the bedpan and get back to work ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
