Title: Painting plastic ??

Hi Folks im wanting to tidy up my airbox its a bit scruffy and faded,

What would be the best way to paint it do i need special paint /primer etc ??

Hi Stuart, when I repainted the side panels on my F1 I used Halfords plastic primer and then selected the nearest colour in their car range (I think it was graphite grey), as usual preparation time is critical, lots of sanding and wet and dry before the primer coat.

Whoops forgot about the clear coat at the end (Halfords)

First use adhesion promoter, then primer, then colour, then laquer. Locally we have a trade paint supplier who will put it all in aerosol cans but they do cost over £10 each

Forget half gits, try your yellow pages for a local paint/panel supplier
