Title: Are they taking the pi#*
Post by: Tiny Tim on April 02, 2015, 06:25:09 PM
Not that I ride into London anymore, but this is a late April Fools joke surely.

Sad fact of life that London will rip off anyone they can using a motor vehicle. One of our coaches isn't LEZ compliant, and it costs £200 a time to enter London, even to get into Heathrow! (although I found another way into Heathrow that isn't covered by the cameras yet!) Basically, why would anyone want to visit a shithole like London anyway? One plus point for those of us who don't live there or go there is there will be lots of older bikes being sold off from within the shitty, oops, city:))

I can't help wondering how many other towns and cities are going to adopt this same rip off in the guise of being environmentally friendly.

I don't care any more can't stand the place.I almost always end up paying out more in fines than what I get in wages.  >:(
After my last job there I just turn all London work away.

I live in and around so obviously I'm disappointed. Bikes are a  great way to get around here.

This is what happens when politics and the eco-loons form an unholy alliance. Ask not for whom the bell tolls...

Am I right in thinking if you live in London the charge doesn't apply.

I imagine you would have to live within the charge zone. Otherwise the charge applies.

The Dartford Tunnel and crossing are free for bikes also. You can have a lovely day riding around the M25 and it not cost a bean in tolls  ;D :D :D :D :D

My goodness i just hate the way things are going in this country, it looks like the ace cafe classic days are a thing of the past for me, FCUK this country i really really hate living around London with a passion, i feel so bloody angry after reading this, and what with the euro 5 and 6 laws it will be a matter of time before you have to get a new fcuking car every 3 years surely building all these cars is worse for the environment, i think its all about money

Of course it's about the money. Look at that farce a few years ago when you got £1k to trade in your old car for new. I'm sure that wasn't very green.

It was rather sad to see old but sound cars being scrapped,  such as VW beetles with virtually no rust on them.  It was just a box ticking exercise to gain some green brownie points to appease the EU.
