If it has a 3mm shaft, it could fit

Old topic, but probably valuable.
Trip meter knob is available here:

Hi Lecram,

At this moment I do not need new faces as I did find some nos clocks.
Saying that the speedo sometimes sticks at 90 to 100 kph which is OK as I do not go much faster than that I like to see the countryside here.
If this starts to annoy the hell out of me can you repair it?
Many thanks
Bitsa

Yes, I can, no problem.

For CB750 K0/Sandcast owners who don't have time or confidence to restore their precious speedo meter and tacho meter, we offer a professional service for repairing and restoring your gauges. Once restored, the gauge will work as new and look awesome, as if it just left the factory.
If the needle bounces, we can make the needle stable again.
Read this page for more info: CB750faces.com gauge restoration services

If you have other questions, please let us know by contacting us at info@cb750faces.com.

We have restored many gauges for customers all over the world and are very experienced in renewing Honda CB750 gauges. Please read this report at this forum: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=79183.msg1133819#msg1133819

If you have a metric speedo in kilometers, we can convert your speedo to a miles version (MPH).

Do you fill the damper pot to the top
Cheers

No, a few mm under the top. When you put the cylinder back into the pot, the oil must stay in the pot. If it comes out of the pot, pull the cylinder out, remove the overflowing oil and put the cylinder back.

Can I ask what you fill the damper with or is it a trade secret

I will be buying another set of faces for a k1 as the other ones I bought were excellent.

Thanks.

I fill the dampers with silicone oil with a viscosity of 50,000. That's often used to fill the diffs of RC cars. I use a syringe with a 1.2mm needle which I shortened to about 1cm. So noting secret about this  ;)

Be very careful when you refill the damper pot. It's easier to damage the fragile parts than repairing those.

Hi,

I can do the K6 gauges, but do not have replacement faces for these gauges. Ik have restored a set for a Dutch guy two months ago and he is very happy with the result.

The nut is tight but the springs are past there were limit so hopefully it's just worn springs
Can you stop the speedo from jumping erratically
I probably bought the face plates from you.

I have sold over thousand face plates all over the world, so you could be a customer of CB750faces.com  ;) I only know your nickname here at this forum.

I can repair the jumping needle, no problem. I have done dozens of these gauges. All vintage CB750 gauges bounce, even NOS gauges. I have never opened a gauge with a proper damper. All dampers were (almost) empty. If the gauge is already open, it's a good opportunity to refill the damper.
WD40 is not the right stuff to repair the damper. It could work a while, but it will start jumping again after a short time.

The needle did indeed come loose it fell off today on my 115 mile trip.I hate pulling clocks apart still got to do them on the other bike.  But now I have a more serious problem the bike shakes the bars so much it tries to tear my arms off.The front forks have almost no rebound so it jumps and skips over bumps

Is the center nut of the triple tree also loose?

Regarding your tacho: I am specialized in repairing CB750 gauges. I have a special tool to close the gauge after removing the crimp ring. So if you want, I can do that for you and if the face plate is worn or faded, I supply high quality face plates as well.

It could be that the needle came loose from the shaft. The best way to check what's wrong is to open the gauge and fix it.

Guys, have any of you restored your clocks on a cb750K2? if so, what faces did you use, what colour for the tip of the needles, and what finish for the black cases themselves? All and every input gratefully received...  also if using a replacement speedo, any thoughts on changing the milage to what was on the original one? Is this OK even? Thanks. oh forgot to mention...all the above for as near concourse restoration as possible...mostly.

I am using modelling paint for the tip, brand Revell, enamel paint, colour number MATT 25. Is very close to the original.

There is a guy in Holland called Lecram who does the best faces (not overlays they are printed plastic) - he is selling them though CMSNL too I think. Not sure if he does K2's yet but if not I am sure it will be in the pipeline. The Sandcast guy are using him for K0 faces. Don't want to put his email address on here PM me if you need it. I have also posted on Sandcast site that you are looking for K2 faces and he is bound to see it.

I know the guy who sold that K2 today - he is a real enthusiast so it's probably a really good buy - His K0 is from the same early batch as mine. I also know Chris here in Hull whose restored K2 came 2nd in the CB of the year Mag (His bike was painted the same colours as mine by Andrew Parnaby after he saw my paintwork (should really have different coloured pinstripes though - they are really K0/K1 colours. Andrew paints on the pinstripes !! mine on my K0 were definitely painted on at the factory by Honda but at some stage they may have switched to transfers/decals.

Spent all day fixing the Bog and tracking down parts for my latest CB250 twin. Got a lead on a 420 mile only 350 engine and carbs. Only problem is it is in the States. Waffling again time to go!

Cheers

Ash

Thanks for your reply, Ash, I am doing K2 faces as well. You can find these here, on my website: http://www.cb750faces.com/webshop.php

I have MPH and KM/H versions, all can be supplied very soon. Free shipping.

Have you asked the guys on www.sohc4.net as there's a large(r) community of K0-K1 builders over there.

Check the Yamiya kill switch plastics thread!

Steve

Tnx Steve, I have posted the same question on that forum
