I was in the post office when 3 guys came in wearing masks.  I shit myself until I realised it was only an armed robbery.

Funny but true.

Yes I was thinking 2-stroke oil myself.

Will try the Evaporust stuff ... My Bomber tank is brimmed with Bilt-Hamber DeoX-C at the moment . Anyone got experience with that vs Evaporust ? We use Deox-C at work so I cadged some of that.

Lot of theories online is that DeOx-C is basically citric acid crystals and wetting agent ... the  fact that it is fit for human consumption kind of goes along with that.

I recently used Evaporust on my K1 tank (very rusty) and wasn't impressed, left it in for two days, still rusty inside, then used the electrolysis method, that made a big difference.

Look at changing the condenser, if it's original then it's over forty years old and possibly on its last legs.

Car SOS and Wheeler dealers have a few things in common apart from doing up old cars obviously.  You have the cheeky chappie and the mechanic.  As others have said already, in the case of both shows the mechanic works for free, but another thing I've noticed on Wheeler dealers is when they buy a sporty car with ropey  looking alloy wheels, they get the wheels refurbed for say £50 a corner. Thats fair enough, but they often omit to mention the brand new set of tyres they invariably put on too, when chummy Brewer is doing his outlay totting up  at the end of the show.

I have to say I do like both shows, but like Sumpmagnet I can't stand Henry Cole. He has one of those whiney voices that irritates the hell out of me.   I watched the Phil Read replica episode of his show, but had to turn it off half way through.   If I was Sam Lovegrove, I'd hit him around the back of the head with a Vincent Black shadow cylinder head when no one was looking.    ;)

I'm with you on Henry Cole, i cringe when ever i see him with his stupid childish antics, and yet i'm compelled to watch the next episode. Sam Lovegrove must be paid a good wedge to be on the same show as Cole.

Went on what was probably the last rideout of the year. There was 10 of us from the local club, riding on anything between a Honda 125 cc Grom and some big Kawasaki, the newest was a 69 plate, oldest was a 1942 ex WD BSA.
We clocked up 110 miles with a stop off for a big breakfast and coffee  (as you do).
Luckily the weather was ok so I rode the 400four instead of the VT.
Where was the bike stop mike, looks like a bikers caf' could it be mid Wales ?

I put my 750 into a Vac-Bag last month after being horrified at seeing it dripping with condensation in a dry garage. https://www.vac-bag.co.uk/

The first time i saw the Avenger was at the 1967 Earls Court bike show when it and the new Norton Commando were the stars of the show.

A biking friend of mine at the time bought that show bike and so it came to Swansea, only for forty years later to end up partly dismantled with bits missing in the back of Ray Williams M/C's in Llanelli. I was interested in buying it  but they wanted £500 for it because of it's history (the first one in the UK and the show model). I baulked at that as i knew i'd have problems sourcing parts.

About two years ago they listed it on Ebay for £1000, i don't know what it sold for.

CB750 / Re: First Gear Crunch
« on: November 21, 2019, 12:15:10 AM »
My K1 has a horrendous crunch when engaging 1st gear on cold start up after no use of about a week, my solution to this is before starting the bike, i select 5th gear, pull the clutch lever in and rock the bike back and forth untill it frees, usually no more than one rocking, then engage 1st gear, kill switch to off and turn the engine over on the starter motor with the clutch in and brakes on,  and that does the trick, no need to do it again untill the next short lay up.

I use a Vac-Bag, every year around this time i wheel the bike into it and it stays there untill springtime, it's a bit of a faff and i need the help of her indoors but definitely worth the forty odd pounds. The bike is totaly isolated from any dampness that is always present in my garage in the winter.
