CB750 / Getting closer
« on: May 10, 2014, 09:01:22 PM »
Eric asked for a few photo's, I made the fairing brackets today so its not taped on anymore!, going with 4 into 1 at present but will change to 4 into 4 when funds allow, staying with a brake rod on the rear as well, I have the cable to do the conversion but have been told that the cable doesn't work too well, I'll change the rod to black though as it stands out too much in chrome/silver,  lots still to do, bodywork goes to paint next weekend then I have to concentrate on sorting the electrics, I was taking it to the TT but in the great tradition of British projects I'm running late, that said I hope to be completed by the end of June (although wifey has started to mention holidays :(),

I'm having my fairing etc painted on the 16th, below is the colour I want, evidently it's an original Honda colour called burnt orange topaz (according the person that built the one in the photo), does anyone know the colour code so that I can save the painter a bit of time searching, cheers Mark.

« on: May 02, 2014, 07:57:36 PM »
Still a long way to go but starting to look like a bike at last!, the frame is shiny honest! (covered in sellotape at mo to stop scratches), note the fork brace, it arrived today from Fastec, £112 delivered, they made the clamps to suit the K7, can't praise them enough, if anyone needs a fork brace here's the owners email, cheers Mark.

CB750 / Nobody will have as much fun as me today!!
« on: April 25, 2014, 10:36:44 AM »
Because I am bleeding my front brakes!, I am determined to enjoy every hour/day of this miserable ..........sorry I meant enjoyable process  :), so far I have connected everything up, I have the started with the conventional method, pumping the fluid down from the reservoir, then switched to pumping fluid back up to the reservoir through the bleed nipples using a syringe, then gone back to conventional method and the fluid coming out of the callipers now has no bubbles,  I'm about 1 and a half hours into the process and the brakes are functioning but the lever is spongey.
I have just tied the lever back to the bar and come inside for a coffee, I'm not sure what tying the lever back achieves but read on this forum that it helps?, leave overnight?, can anyone explain?.
Next plan is probably to raise the callipers above the reservoir and conventionally bleed again, PITA though as I have to unbolt the callipers etc, anyway retaining a good positive mental attitude at present, haven't thrown anything across the garage yet or kicked the dog so going well, any advice will be welcome, cheers Mark.

CB750 / CB750 K7 fork brace
« on: April 19, 2014, 05:56:30 PM »
Does anyone know if fork braces are available for K7 sliders? (58mm dia), looking at various threads on the SOHC4 forum it appears that they are not, I want to run my CR replica without a front mudguard so I should fit fork brace (I think?), cheers Mark.

« on: March 23, 2014, 10:18:40 AM »
Does anyone have a K7 float bowl they can sell me, the brass overflow tube inside one of mine has a hairline crack running along it's length, I could solder it but a replacement would be better, thanks Mark.
