Hi,
Just looking to order brake pads and wondered what opinions are on varying types available.
I've seen organic, semi-sintered and ceramic available and no idea what pros and cons are.
Are any better / worse for squealing which seems a big issue with these brakes?
Cheers,
Andy

Tbh a lot depends on what aspects are important to you. I personally have always liked softer pads others want hot performance braking so a hard pad for them. The softer the pad the better the initial cold braking. Many here like ceramic as they don't fade easily I am led to believe. Like tyre options it's personal choice.
Secondary considerations might be disc wear, soft pads are great for keeping the disc clean with good wear properties - since the abolition of Asbestos some wear is inevitable whatever you go for - its a trade off imho. Not forgetting brake squeeling as a side show.

I use Vesrah,
Quite a soft pad,brakes ok,
But a bit iffy in the very wet,
EBC fibre, I could never get to work in the dry,but after a rainstorm they worked great for a short time,
Ebc semi sintered, great when used hard, not much cold bite,
Reasonable in the wet, prone to wear the discs, risk of squeal.
I am considering a mix and match,
Vesrah one side of the caliper, and EBC the other.
Bare in mind, the technology is 50years old, although I would hope the pad materials might be more up to date.

Thanks guys,
I'll have a Google around and see what looks suitable.
