hi can  a ignition switch and or wiring harness from a550 f2/f3 be used  with a 500 k1 engine had weak spark now none.
The bike f3 550 usa had k1  500 engine fitted , I have installed a wiring harness that came with bike 550 ignition barrel

I do have a 550 engine on bench but the 500 engine is good low miles 9,000     quandry

I think what Andy is saying is you don't need to split carbs, remove  all the smaller parts jets etc and float bowls all will fit in small ultrasonic bath.  I tend not to split unless I have to,   I use air for orifices in bodies,  clean clean clean

 8)v nice welcome

welcome, :D new to the forum myself ,    today I fitted barrels, first I set middle pistons to top put blocks under them to centralise stabilize, leaving a little play. then clamped the rings using home made clamps made from two jubilee clips, screwing mechanism cut off, ends bent over and drilled, screw fitted through both holes with nut. tightened just enough to close rings /should still be able to move turn clamp with rings no need to close rings completely the base of the bore is slightly bigger than running area.
then I lowered barrels down onto the pistons slowly using one hand to persuade pistons into bores.
when entered just enough, I removed clamps and fitted them to the other two pistons and removed blocks.
tapped barrels down further untill other two were starting to enter rotated crank in small incrimentsl fed in the pistons removed clamps.   well that is how I did it. right or wrong  hope that helps   again Welcome
