Well done for finding the problem 👍 6

Is there a wiring solution?Different barrel https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272230431458?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bmuel-XcT82&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uBNVIRM1Sxq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=WHATS_APP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 7

I have stripped them ready for cleaning and was feeling quite pleased with myself when I saw a small spring that I hadn’t accounted for, it’s not from the internals for sure, I’m confident it is from the hardware on the outside somewhere and I’m sure I can figure that out. 8

It must have taken me an hour of checking the points gap, checking the F mark for the bulb to light up in the hope that my static timing is good enough on 1/4 & 2/3 can't believe how rusty I am at setting points. I will use my strobe when it's running. It would be great if the two small pegs for opening the points with a screwdriver were even close to the recess on the other side of the contact breaker. Presumably I could move the backing section to achieve this. I assume some of this is linked to the brand of ponts fitted as well. There is no pitting on the contacts they look very new in terms of use. .500 ponts plate by Macabe Thiele, on Flickr 9

I famously rode my 400 on two cylinders on several journeys of popping & banging as I had the plug leads on wrong. My late father always told me that the only people who do nothing never make a mistake. 10
