Title: Battery for converted 72 CB500
Post by: cantarauk on November 01, 2016, 09:29:30 PM
I am currently converting a 72 CB500 and am asking the experts here for advice on whether a Shorai LFX14A2-BS12 would be adequate for my build. The electrics are going to have a complete overall and I will be replacing all legacy with newer components such as a motor gadget M-unit, new R/R, and then LED headlight, LED brake and indicators. The ignition will be replaced with Dynatech coil and ignition system.

Does anyone have experience with smaller batteries in their builds and what should i look out for ?

Glenn

youll be fine with that, i ran an 8ah battery in my kick only cb550 running a motogadget m unit and points ignition for a year with no trouble. the dyna ignition is a little more thirsty than points but not much.

Hi Philgresty,

Thank you for that. Are you running the dyne ignition now and if so the 3 or the 5 Ohm version ?

Hey, i dont, my brother has dyna and a motogadget setup on his, as far as i know, the 3ohm is needed for the dyna s igntion, and the 5ohm is for standard points ignition
