Title: CB500 - K0 Stickers
Post by: gvhbiker on December 07, 2017, 04:21:14 PM
Hi

My 1971 K0 doesn't have the HMC stickers on the side panels. I've bought some to put on but I've been told the early models didn't have them as standard which would mean my bike was ok as it is.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Whilst posting, I have a brand new full set of stickers for a CB500/4 (including the stencil/mask for the black tank panel) - the chap I bought my bike from was intending to change its colour from black to candy gold but I have no intention of doing so - these were bought from Sunrise Graphics and are untouched. I've priced them up & new they cost £58 plus postage, I was thinking of £35 plus postage if anyone is interested.

Thanks

Geoff

The very early K0 had a sticker under the badge  saying Honda Motor CoTokyo Japan. The later models did not have this. Hope that helps

There were no signs on my very early 3/71 original panels that they had ever had stickers on  and there are  none visible on the photo of the bike in the Shop Manual. I was kindly given a pair of stickers by a member on here so I will keep them with the bike for a future owner to decide whether to apply them or not. Basically, I don't want to f up Menno's superb paintwork by applying and then removing again. I suppose the Jury is out on this one.

The only place I ever found a part number for the sticker is in a very early, small size, Japanese parts book which also shows fixed footrests and the "Speed Light" in the steering stem nut. Ash has this at the moment to scan when he can. These stickers do not even show in the early US loose leaf parts book that I scanned to go with the Manual. As far as I can work it out not even all the K0's had it and definitely no official UK models
