Check out the oil filter bolt, I am off to Hull on Tuesday, may go and view it ;D >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/honda-cb550-f/152857063644?hash=item2396fdb0dc:g:bN0AAOSwHYVaUksh

Hmm .. if the filter bolt isn't screwed in, I doubt if the engine rebuild will be anywhere near your standards Graham! Also has small ends done ..how do you do that on a 550???
-
I see it has the extra overdrive gearbox fitted and fully adjustable headlight and pillion mounts. Nice looking final pipe though, I'd have that!
-
Show Spec in wrong colour with no side panel logos?????
-
Not a good advert for us Hull folk ;D
-
Never even started - so it’s a non runner?
Still mere details such as the aircraft dazzling light don’t matter as its a collections bike that he’s selling relunctenly. If it makes as much as he thinks they’re worth in show condition he’ll push it round to your house.
-
No wonder he’s fitted the headlight upside down, looking at the alternator cover, the bike’s spent most of its life that way. CG 500 is a rare bike though. Restored to show condition too - is the Blind Institute still on Beverley road Ash?

His Walter Wolf replica RG500 went from £11k to £23k in the last hour, with 9 days to go!
-
Just sent a message asking if they had any photos of it since the restoration. :)
-
I particularly like the rusty spokes and exhaust header heat sink thingy’s
-
I would be concerned as he has never, ever, sold anything on fleabay
-

Like that, bloody funny. ;D Did he reply.

No I am afraid not. I can only assume he is very busy, because surely he wouldn't ignore any enquiry. ;)
-
No replies from the seller and up to 5K, some dodgy bidding going on here ???
-
And still over 3 days to go. Maybe we are all missing the best 550 in the world. :'(
-
Dont think i would want to pay 5k for that bike..... What would it be worth if it was actually in show winning condition?
-
The other two bikes in the last pic with the 550 are also up for sale:
Yamaha RD350 YPVS is at £5900
Suzuki RG500 Walter Wolf Replica is at £25000
So that's £36000 towards the house. No idea if the other two are fair prices....anyone here?
-
The auction ended and it’s back up for sale, £1,000, no bids

You can have it delivered this time for £2.90.......that may just swing it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
And had an engine swap, down to a 500 now!
-
Its obviously not right does he think someone is going to buy, pay and have it delivered unseen. With no comeback. Or is something else going on.
-
What I can't understand is the three bikes are up there again for sale and no record of the previous listings if you look in his items for sale that have finished? What's that all about? If anyone is seriously interested in buying it I could go check it out...I guess there's not going to be anyone though.

Have mailed the seller and wanted to view the bikes last week, when I was in Hull but, a number of massages and no replies :o

Tell us more about these massages - does Julie know?
Without wishing to libel anyone, it was strange how the RG went up stratospherically in an hour , (£11k to £23k) with 9 days to go - who bids like that? If I were going to bid that sort of dosh I would keep my powder dry and wait till the last minute.
Edit: rather than start another thread on insane eBay listings, I'll just leave this here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-500-UNIT-CRANKSHAFT-1969-ONWARDS-FOR-RESTORATION/222790797859
In what way, shape or form is this useable other than as a doorstop? It's fecking broken!!!! I have an old window in kit form somewhere, obviously restorable, I must list it, also a cremated cat, may require specialist vetinary attention.
-
Isn't that a bolt together crank for the Triumph? If you've got one broken the other end it may be of interest, or the central flywheel could be used.

Yes, the Triumph cranks are bolted together using fitted bolts and you can’t grind the crankpins without removing them from the flywheel and bolting back together as a pair.

True and not so true, they are bolted together, and yes you can regrind the big ends with the crank bolted up. And I would certainly give him a fiver for that crank.

Winning bid:
t***r(308) £5,600.00 25 Jan 2018 at 5:49:16PM GMT
Who do we know that begins with t and ends with r - surely not? :o
The Walter Wolf RG500 made £25,800, and £6,700 for the RD. I think he has enough to buy a house in Hull by now :)
-
Nope, my fleabay page starts with J ;) >>>https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB750-K0-tank-SOHC-from-1969-1970/162868905072?hash=item25ebbe4470:g:L5QAAOSwZoZaaP6e

£5600 for a non runner, that looks like it could soak up a fair bit more cash to bring it to "show condition". No way.
-
It’ll be relisted soon..... “due to timewasters.....”
-
The bidder with 14 feedbacks was desperate to own it going from £1851 to £5000 in one bid......defo dodgy
