Having taken the conrods off I have found that the journals are of similar condition to the mains. A bit u/s. Crank looks pretty good though, no marks, very smooth. One problem I have is that I can't see all the crankshaft markings. The crankcase is marked BABBB. The conrods 2131. So the info I have is as diagram:
[attach=1]
Assuming the missing marks are A and 1, am I right in assuming the main journals are Green, Yellow, Green, Green, Green and the big ends are Yellow, Red, Green, Red?

If you only have crankcase and conrods where are you getting the journal codes from?

Hi Bryan, I have the following:
Crankcase BABBBB
Crank 1?, 1A, 1A, 1A, ?
Conrods 2131
Some of the crank markings are barely visible, the question marks are where I think it's probably an A and a 1.

Correction!!
Crankcase BABBB

Thanks Oddjob.
I am assuming A and 1 as I have measured the crank. Although my measuring stick isn't very accurate the measurements were repeatable across the crank. Thanks also for the advise on fitting the next size up journals. If I select to go the next size up is it best to fit all the journals next size up or keep the right size for the ones I know for sure?

Thanks again Oddjob, that's a great help. :)

On the crank you will have 5 letters and 4 numbers (or the other way round) as you have 9 journals not 10

Hi Bryan,
I can only pick out four 1s and three As. I have attached a picture of DayvW's crank from a previous post and highlighted the A and 1 that I cannot see on my crank. The crank in the picture is the same orientation as my crank when I am looking.

Thanks Oddjob. Still no joy. Sometimes I think I can see something then I look again and can't see anything. Not enough to be sure of anything, will have to buy a better measuring stick to be sure of what I need.
