the bike fires up nicely, but after all (swapping plugs included) still no reading from strobe gun.. on plug 1/4.
The timing is set spot on on number 4 (still trying to figure out why..)

thanks

CB750 / No strobe light from cylinder 1.
« on: July 30, 2018, 12:18:57 PM »
Good day,
I have been trying to get my k2 running smoothly for a while.. but after checking
Timing,
Carb sync,
Points and gap,
Colortuned
..and using..
new coils, condensers, resistors and spark plugs..
my problem is almost unresolved.
the main dilemma is, when I check the timing with a strobe light gun, i have a good result by using the clamp on plugs 2, 3 and 4. Unfortunately 1 is a no show.
Strangely I have a decent spark on that plug.
Any suggestion to stop me going crazy?

thanks

Thanks,
still I need to unscrew it all to have a blue explosion (with colortune).
.. so turn in to lean it?

Thank you

Actually i've replaced both condensers and points but still..
Points 2-3 produce a lot of sparks.
I have swapped the condensers around but 2-3 are still sparky.
It run great for the first few hours, then..

How do i disgnose the issue??
thanks

Still no result on carb 1
The points are set,
the timing spot on,
carb synced,
Not sure if any of these effect but.. still cant see the blue light on 1.
Any idea on where to start.
The other carbs have a decent blue spark.
Thanks.

The bike mounts aftermarket air filter pods,
changing the main jets has made very little impact but the only issue (also after dropping the pin) is still number one carb.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot

CB750 / Sparks on the points gap..
« on: June 10, 2018, 09:44:54 PM »
Good day, I remember having sorted the same problem (sparks on points gap) previously by replacing the condenser..
This time that alone hasn't worked. I have realized that the the rubber isolating part that goes to the hole indicated by the orange arrow (in the img attached) was damaged so I improvised something.
Could be it?
How do you replace that tiny part (if you can)?

Thanks

Cleaned all carbs and check the floats (all at 26mm) no result.
All carbs need to be screwed out to almost all out to achieve a blue explosion.
I reckon it is because I have lifted the needle so it needs more air to balance the extra fuel going through?
Thanks

CB750 / Rattling noise when in neutral
« on: June 02, 2018, 11:37:55 AM »
Good day, i am trying to check wether or not i have a serious problem.
When the engine of my k2 is running I can hear a rattling noise (from the primary chain?) that goes away when i pull the clutch.
Its not very loud or worrying but i wouldn't like it to worsen. I've tried to adjust the cam chain (Clymer manual page 48) via the tensioner but didn't improve it.
Any other way to assess the problem?

thanks

Float too high or blocked/restricted air passageway

CB750 / Gunson Colortune result
« on: May 31, 2018, 05:51:21 PM »
Good day,
I have purchased a Gunson Colortune to get the carbs right on my K2.
Cylinders 2, 3 and 4 show a nice blue spark;
the problem is with cylinder 1.
The only way to see it turning towards blue is to unscrew the air/fuel mix screw completely and that is at idle only.
Whats your opinion?

Thanks

CB750 / Re: Weak spark on 2 and 3

The problem was with the insulating rubber  between the screw and the points plate. I have wrapped it with electrical tape and.. "magically" it worked.
Still im struggling to get a strobo light reading on 2-3 ht lead.
Bike runs fine though.
Thanks for your suggestions
