I got a stainless one from Phil Denton a few years ago. It was reasonably priced, even shipped to Oz.

Julie do you know what size the o rings are in your oil pump kit? I'm interested to see if I can buy them from a local supplier.

It's great weather for riding here. Went on an overnight run to visit a mate from the Historical Bike club who lives 190ks from us. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Thanks Steve,
I worked on the assumption that these items should be used. My latest problem is that it appears that I have stripped the thread on the adjuster nut, as my bearings will not tighten up enough to be rideable. Will have to pull everything apart again to inspect. Perhaps the 6mm or so of upper bearing seat that protrudes from the steering neck in the new set-up has contributed to this issue. I had to find a thinner lock-nut washer to enable it to get purchase on the upper thread also. Has any one had their steering stem re-threaded? Justin 11

I am fitting a set of tapered steering head bearings form David Silvers, which came with a washer that goes on the stem below the bearing cone. Should I also install the thin Honda washer and dust seal?
Thanks Justin 12

Tim Boughen has a guide on how to make these washers in the file section of the Yahoo Cb400F Group. Unfortunately the file is too large to upload to this forum, so you might have to join the group first.

CB350/400 / Re: Breather chamber and air box« on: July 31, 2014, 11:04:29 PM »
Greg,
I just had a look around my bike. There doesn't seem to be any easy way to get to the breather assembly, but perhaps removing the rear mudguard might be a possibility. Its 4 years since I put mine together so I can't remember much about putting the guard on but the plastic part sits right behind the breather. The airbox, though, has a heap of stuff to come off before ite can be moved, - including the plastic chamber between it and the carbs which can be a pain to get back in place. Good luck, Justin 14

+1 on the previous comments.
Aside from the Haynes manual you should get hold of a parts manual, and the Honda service manual. Both are available on the web, as well as stacks of helpful information about this bike (including this forum of course). Cheers, Justin
