Evening, was just talking with my dad earlier and pondered if anyone knows where his old 750 ended up, for a bit of nostalgia here is the receipt from when he acquired in 1975 aged 19, think he sold it 2 years later and the new owner promptly crashed it just down the road, nothing too serious he says he got back on and kept going.

Welcome it was on the road up until 2011 so hopefully hiding in someone's garage somewhere.

Welcome Moxey - just checked on DVLA and says MOT ran out 2011 and untaxed since 1995 (?)

I think I went to Matty Bells with my mate Paul Robson who was local to that area in the mid '70's, when I was living in the NE. I remember we also went to a small house that literally had bikes and parts EVERYWHERE ...bet your dad would know it. I had a CB250K2 and Paul had an Ariel Arrow ...yuk ..nuff said !

£525 was almost a years student grant in 1976.

£525 was exactly what I paid for new Honda pipes 34 years later. Funnily enough that bike, the 14th in the UK and the 1st one in UK were both in the 1st batch of 750's imported to the UK and both sold second hand through that tiny shop in York...both probably assembled on the same day in 10/1969.

I remember the Bulletin. June 76 was 4 months before I arrived there to study electronic engineering. I must admit that spent most of my first year as president of the Uni Bike club and on student demos / occupations.
In the 2nd year we grew up and got girlfriends.

It is amazing what we save I still have the receipt for my CB750F1 when I bought it new in 1976, how the heck did that survive two marriages, several house moves and 10 years working and living overseas.

Cheers fellas, yes I'd checked the .gov websites and found the same conclusion, that it was at least around until recently (likely resting in some lockup now I'd expect).
Think he has a few other old receipts lying around (Odd little things we do to preserve memories I guess), has one for his new Suzuki GT 500 and his XS750...his biggest regret it was that or an F2 in 1978 and he opted for the shaft drive of the Yamaha...wasn't to his liking!

I'll mention it to him next I see him, any idea where the house was? Describes a few of the lads he used to knock about with in Shildon, Bishop and Darlo.
