it looks like cmsl do what looks like genuine head gaskets for cb750f2. anybody on here bought one? i know theyre £80 a piece so not cheap.

Graham is the man to ask. I’ve bought genuine Honda head gaskets for most of the 750 K0 engines he’s built for me (10+) and they seem to be the real deal (very sticky as well..).

i believe graham uses the genuine items but he doesnt have any for the F2

i've also picked up a link for cycle-x so i've sent them an email for either the head gasket or the full kit.

I would not really bother with a OEM head gasket on a F2. A good quality one will do the job, as the later head & barrels have the dowels and sealing rubbers, which was a problem with early engines as they never had this benefit. Most gasket problems was not the head gasket blowing, it was oil leaks from the returns.
It is if we are dealing with a water cooled engine ;)

ah, thats good to know. i'll see what comes back from cycle-x and go from there.

i've just had a message from cycle-x and they reckon the round hole head gasket is fine on the f2. does that make sense? these guys race sohc hondas so should know their stuff. any thoughts?
