Post by: Laverda Dave on September 07, 2018, 01:43:37 PM: I know it's not a Honda (but it is a SOHC ::)), the Laverda SFC750 is cheap, assuming it is genuine with history. If it goes for the reserve price its a bargain. I would love one of those having ridden the nuts off one around Scotland a few years ago, what a sound!

Post by: adespin on September 07, 2018, 07:45:12 PM: Back in 1974 i took a trip to Slater Brothers in Bromyard who were at the time the original Laverda importers, to try out their SF750 demonstrator, great bike and great handling around the twisty roads of Hereford, but i still prefered my 1973 K2 750 that i owned at the time.

I reckon it would be ok quite soon Bryan, the first time it kicks back when i start it, it would launch me through the roof and there would be enough head room permanently 😀😀😀

At 16K, Julie could have launched herself through the shed roof for the price of a decent CB750 diecast K0

Some interesting results, a CB750 K1 like mine for just £7575, £27.6k for the sandcast, nearly £22k for the first Z1 then £28k for the second one as the disappointed buyers duked it out. I rather liked the low mileage CL350 K0, £3,910.

What surprised me was the value of the little stuff, £5k for FS1Es! Some lost youth being rekindled there, methinks, but they'll still only be marginally faster than a good bicycle going downhill with the wind behind them.

Old MV's at top money, £126k for the 500 triple GP bike. My mate was recently offered Eu100k for his show winning 750S by the factory museum, as it's apparently better than the one they have, but he turned them down as it was his late father's pride and joy.

The last Francis Beart 350 Manx Norton (he gave all his tools away after he'd finished it) was a beauty, and a real piece of history, £52k. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25250/lot/53/

He trades as 'Coastpath' on eBay and ships out of a warehouse in Holland next to CMS but lives in Wales I think. Lovely little CB175 that auction one and I bet he had the pick of the crop on NOS parts for it via CMS
