Hi

My rectifier regulator went naff.....it fried my battery.
I'm just waiting for a replacement.

Messing with it I've just noticed that it's also blown my headlight....which is a right kick in the nuts.

Can they be repaired...?
Or where do you get a replacement from...?

Cheers

I paid 62 pounds per wheel for stainless spokes....fitted and true. Top job in my opinion.

I've always been involved with manufacturing management, improvement and training. Worked as a change consultant in automotive and aerospace companies up and down the uk for 7 years...but 70,000 miles a year and living in hotels isn't much fun.
Worked at rolls and Bentley...which I liked. Now I work for an engineering company that specialises in sheet metal and precision machining 7 miles from home.

I started off s a TV repairman then went sideways into fruit machines and jukeboxes.   Lost my job then despatch riding for a bit, then learned carpentry and joinery.  Helped rebuild the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay.   Work went slack so I repaired domestic appliances for the next 15.  Fell off a ladder and broke my back and got retired off.  Went to uni and qualified as a design and technology teacher.  No jobs except supply work.  Went back to fixing stuff - commercial dishwashers.  Struggling now because of the back injury so I'm training to be an ADI.  Having done my IAM tests on a bike,  car and a minibus, and the teaching degree, teaching people to drive is the way forwards.  Just waiting for my ADI number from DVSA so I can do my part one.

Very versatile....good luck to you with the adi

That's first class that is, and for your very first time is outstanding. Very neat job. How did the wiring and the m unit work out, does it get rid of all the gubbins such as relays and that. Did you do a simple skematic of wiring you could share?. As it looks great. And it all fits in that small area? Wow

Love the m unit. No relays...just inputs from switches and output to component
I used this schematic

Thanks gents.
It's the first time I've ever done anything like this. It was a massive learning curve but I loved it and it kept me busy from January through to May.
I stripped it to bare frame. Chopped a bit off. Welded it back together and went from there.
I had help with the top end of the engine....and sent the carbs to a garage to be ultrasonically cleaned.
I rewired it using a motogadget m unit....which I love.
I'm happy with most bits but plan on changing some of the cheaper bits that I fitted to get it together quickly.
My second tank is with a painter currently so I'm looking forward to getting it back.
