Title: 1978 Carb clips
Post by: captaink on May 15, 2017, 04:02:04 PM
Hi, Do you know if the jubilee style clips used on the CB750 engine to carb and carb to airbox are the same throughout the 1970's model range.
Silvers have clips for the early models but not listed on the 1978 model they have different part numbers and the 1978's are discontinued apparently.
If the rubbers are the same then the clips from the earlier ones must fit ??????
There a narrow band and hard to find elsewhere.
Cheers all
Keith

The K7/8 and F2/3 rubbers are different to the rest of the range to suit the dreadful PD carbs, so I would imagine the clips may differ.

Very difficult to get the correct F2 clips, if at all. After a fruitless search I ended up getting my old ones re-plated and fitting new screws. From experience, avoid the Jubilee type if you can as when they are tightened they have a lump where the worm screw is and it causes air leaks. If you want to try them though they are available in 9mm plated or stainless.
