Title: 1983 Honda CB 1100F
Post by: Kelly E on February 10, 2022, 11:21:13 PM
Yesterday we bought an 83' CB 1100F from the original owner. It sounded to good to be true but it was true. The bike lived in the garage since new and was last on the road in 03'. The bike found us through our Rust Bros Garage Facebook page. He knew that we'll resurrect and ride it. We'll get started on it as soon as we finish up the Suzuki GS 1100E.

That will look great cleaned up. I look forward to the rebuild posts on this, well done for discovering a true barn find.

Great engine on those models - had the CB1100RB version in the 90's. 115BHP - Rapid! Attached picture before I sourced a standard exhaust (said it before but wish I'd kept it!)

That’s a great find! Looks like dry stored too which makes big difference.

And good standard exhaust - which is a big bonus

Lovely looking bikes, but a big old buses too...akin to my cb900f which was so large and so heavy to wheel around that I had to sell it ( although riding it I didn't ever notice the weight). The chap I sold it too was 6'4''ish and 16 stone, so perfect for him.    No wonder the word moved to smaller super-bikes like the Gsxr750!

I am only 5' 5" and 130lbs but I love riding the big bikes. We also have a 900F which I love riding. Our biggest bike is the 94'  Kawasaki Concours ZG 1000, it weighs 700lbs. With bikes that big you really have to think about where your parking and if it is sloped to your advantage or not. You also need to be able to do full lock U-turns at parking lot speed.
