Title: Front fork strip down

Stripped. The forks for re-chrome  Look what I found?… Kitchen roll packed in   Not sure why as there were no leaks The paper was dry  What are your thoughts???    Ross

My thoughts? It's the bodge to end all bodges that's what I think!  :o

That's a common temporary bodge, usually done just before you head for the MOT if you have a slight weep. Can't see the pont though if the seals aren't leaking 🤔🤔🤔🤔 or the forks are out of oil 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I understand the bodge, but there are no leaks, as can be seen in photo No old staining on the paper I just don't understand why do it in the first place when its not needed ?????
