Hello again folks,
How do you remove the 2 cylinder head to barrels location sleeves?

Why do you want to remove them? Either, push a drill bit the same diameter down inside and grip the outside with a pair of mole grips, wiggle and it may come out. Or, just clamp with mole grips, this will crush the dowel and wreck it but it will remove it.
I have stock of them if you need new ones.

My steel liners are a little bit proud of the surface when I pull my fingernail across it. So I'm going to flat it on my surface table or give it a light skim on the Bridgeport.

Ah, OK, so they need to come out then. Why not try just heating the barrels in the oven, the liners should drop down so they are level. They would have been level when they left the factory so unless someone has been playing around in the past, they should be level now.

Lightbulb moment!
I've already heated the barrels in the oven once to cure the Simonez paint so they must have moved then! I'll bake them again tonight, but this time I'll support the base so the sleeves are clear and can slip back down.

I did the same. I didn’t notice until I tightened the head down. The relocated with an almighty cracking noise. A real heart stopper.

If they don't drop down on their own after heating, give them a whack with a plastic mallet.

Recently had the same problem, but shown how to remove the location sleeves using flush side wire cutter. If necessary shove a drill bit down to hold its shape, but in my case all came out simply levering the sleeves up with the wire cutter.
Minor damage for sure to the sleeves, but easily dressed out…
