Title: Gearbox bearing
Post by: royhall on June 09, 2022, 02:19:21 PM
Before I do anything that causes damage a bit of advice. How do you remove a notchy bearing out of this casting. I'm sure somebody has found a way. Cheers.

Put it in the oven at 150c for 15 minutes and it will fall out with a tap on a block of wood  ;)

150 for 15 worked a treat, didn't even need the wood block it just fell out. Dropped the new bearing in whilst it was still hot then cooled quickly with compressed air. The other end of the shaft was the opposite, put the bearing in the freezer for and hour and it went straight into it's housing in the lower crankcase. Job done. Bet your a dab hand in the kitchen Trig. What a top website, every days a school day.
