Title: Wiring expert for my CB550
Post by: alessandro on June 26, 2022, 01:30:47 PM
Hello!
I recently installed a digital speedo on my cb 550 and after while the tail light stopped working (not the brake). I tried to fix it and as a result now the starter and the dashboard are not working either!
I have been trying to resolve it myself and I found it it above my knowledge and skills.

Does anyone know someone who can come to my place in south east London to have a look at the wiring of my CB550?

Thanks in advance

Check the fuses for the dashlights and the tail lights, should be on the same circuit so the same fuse.

Starter, put a screwdriver across the contact points on the relay under the left hand cover, if the starter spins it's either the relay or most likely the button in the switchgear.

Reads as though your fuse box might be falling apart inside?

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I think is more likely that I cannot find back the right route of the circuits. I thought the harness was original but I now see that some cables are different in colour. I am going to check the things suggested and come back to you. I just would like to avoid bringing the bike to a garage!
