Good afternoon,
Just thought I'd say hello! I'm new to motorcycling but not new to classic vehicles, been in and around them for a living and for fun for many years. Last year I bought a 1973 125s to learn on, blew it up twice and rebuilt it twice but had many happy miles of riding! I've passed my MOD1 and have my MOD2 test booked for 2 weeks from now so last week I part exchanged my 125s for this lovely 350 Four at a dealer near me.
I've got a few bits to sort on it over the next couple of weeks and then hopefully if I pass my test first go, plenty of happy miles to be had!
Cheers
Simon

This was my 125, a lovely bike to learn on. Was a bit too loud though as had an aftermarket exhaust

This is the only photo I have. Taken in my girlfriends driveway in 1976.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary last August.
After this, we graduated to a CB175 and a 500/4 (one of many…)

I was a poor student so I could not afford Wrangler waistcoat back in 1967 - a couple of years ago whilst in Melton saw a half Suede Waistcoat in Yorkshire Traders - had to buy it - worn it once -
Wendys say it makes me look like an overweight snooker player.
Not the look I was aiming for.
-
That is a beautiful 350-4, I've always liked the styling of them.
Cheers

Ted - I worked in a menswear shop. 50% staff discount meant £3 for a Wrangler waistcoat (Levi was £4 )

Just for a laugh I know £3 sounds inexpensive but that was the price of 12 gallons of four star in 1967 (4 galls was 19s 8p) so by this weeks stupid prices that is equivalent to £108 at staff rate !

True.
My “Saturday Boy” wage was £2.50 + commission. On a good day I could make a fiver!

Fantastic, maybe one weekend I could ride over for cuppa!

Cam balancing is a new one on me, did you mean carb balancing?

Welcome and good luck with the test. It seems a long time ago when I travelled from one side of London to the other to take mine and all done and dusted in one visit.
In fact if I remember correctly, the examiner looked at the sheet and said as I had driven across London and made it to the test centre, then he would pass me! And to think I could go from my CB200N to a CBX in the same day....

Welcome to the forum Simon. What a great taste in bikes you have. Good luck with the test.
Some great riding roads in Aylesbury and Thame, that's my normal test route, I'm just down the road in Ruislip.

You wont find anybody worth going to who will do just carbs as its the last thing to do in a full service
