I don't know if any one has seen this on ebay but, what is it ?. The seller recons it is a 500K0 but, the headlight brackets, right hand handlebar switch are K1 and one of the pictures show the helmet holder at the front ? The K0 helmet holder is part of the seat catch so, it looks to be a 500K1 frame .
Is this someone trying to pass it off as a K0 or the seller just doesn't know what the bike is ?

I looked at the rear plate holder (black) and the colour (gold) and tried to read the plate (L?) so a bit of a bitsa really.
For that price I’d want a “nut and bolt” restoration with the correct parts, rather than what the owner thought looked nice.
Shame he didn’t post the numbers.

For a "Nuts and Bolts" restoration you'd think he'd have fitted the correct type of bolts in the correct holes. The camcover uses JIS screws on the external edges, he's used normal flanged bolts. Plus there is no vent pipe fitted so the oily mist will drop crap onto the carbs.
Looks to be a K1 masquerading a a K0. Easy to do, transfer on the side panels, change the colour gold (he does say new tank) remove the lighting switch on the bars, change the seat and lock and it's most of the way there. Didn't do the headlight brackets though, most likely because there are rarer than rare and he couldn't find them.
Does the K0 not have the front helmet holder Graham? never noticed before if that's the case.
Plus L reg, that's extremely late for a K0 to be unsold, they'd have sold out with being a new 4 cylinder model so it's unlikely there was 1 still unsold in a showroom back then.

With those bolts in the cam cover, you will not be able to remove the tappet caps. Same if you use allen bolts.
The helmet hook on a 500K0 is on the seat catch and that is why the decal is on top of the side panel at the rear.
Can't see from the pictures if it has a K0 or K1/K2 air chamber. K0 has the drain tube in the center and the rest have it to the side ;)

Using the newer 8mm headed flanged bolts from later Hondas (like the 250N) works just fine.

Picture 9 shows the engine no beginning with a 2.
So presumably a K0 with a replacement engine and frame.

More like a CB500K1 with a K0 seat and seat catch ::) I hope someone who is interested in this does there home work at that price .

Just for a contrast, here the last of the oldstyle CB500s. The adviser says building year 1977. Although possible, I doubt that. Probably 1976 and first registered in 1977, like mine btw. Only 13.000km?
Note the passenger footpegs, angled forward. They were also on mine when I got it. Tank striping looks like a restauration not perfectly lined.

Anyone ever pulled up someone on inaccuracies? I did inform one a while ago who was advising probably genuine mileage on a 500. It had a speedo that only went to 110mph. He did change the wording.
I have also informed a few who are advertising parts they are not sure of fitment.
