That last shot, has that hub got cracks in teh brake lining or is that my computer? Im not fussey of the condition providing the brake lining isnt goosed which I think it might on that one, would you mind looking and letting me know? Sorry to be a pest.
-
It is not your eye sight, it has the common cracking ;) Can be repaired .
-
Yes the clean one is def cracked. The manky one looks ok re brake lining. Ill see if I can get a better pic and you can let me know which you prefer, if any.
Maybe trigger can advise you on repair.

How do you know that they are 550F2/K3 hubs and not 500 four ? I did put a post on with the measurements on how to know how to ID a hub but, can't find it .
-
Trigger. I can see that the two hubs are different the clean one looks to be the same as on my 500 ie the four ridges that circle the hub are of equal height.
The other one has four ridges but one is lower/shallower than the others. No idea what this signifies but must be important.
-
Apparently theres a chap down near me that effects a good repair, providing we can identify them as 550 F2 that is.
-
I seem to recall the markings inside the hub are different between the 500 and 550. Maybe some pics showing the entire interior of the brake drum would help.

That was an interesting read nice one Trigger. Let me know how it looks Trigg when he gets there, if you can fix it and its suitable can you fettle it Graham (at your leisure as Im back in the states from the 15th sept until mid October) then it saves Gary posting to me to post some where else to get sorted?
