Would anyone by chance have a set of 400 forks apart at the moment?.
I need the measurement of the depth of the recess where the fork bottom bolts go in (as per the attached photo).

I make it 10.8 mm with my calipers.
Seems an unlikely depth.
I would seek a second opinion.

Very strange thing, I've just measured 2 pairs of spare sliders - one pair are 8.11 and 8.08 and the other pair are 9.95 and 9.88 and no, there are no washers stuck inside the first pair!
This is from the lowest point on the spindle curve to the seat where the damper tube bolt fits,
Confused of Orkney!

I have a customer that is having issues with the bolts and between us we're doing some diagnostics and trying to get to the bottom of the problem Ian.

Would it be bolt heads sticking into the axle area?

My hex bolts plus washer are close to 7.00mm one is 6.96 the other is 7.03.
