I have a 1978 CB750 F2 and the front end feels wobbly when riding along. I have checked the steering race for play, the wheel bearings, changed the fork oil. I did find one of the bottom fork yokes loose so I tightened it up and thought that would have solved the problem but it is still there.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Spin the front wheel and take a close look at it.
I stored my 500/4 in a hot garage all summer on the sidestand. The front tyre is now warped and makes the bars wobble.

it's got new tyres on it. The front one was badly fitted but its now ok!

When I first put my 500/4 together it had a wobbly front end. After hours of messing about it turned out to be simply that the top yoke was not sitting correctly in position. I loosened all of the clamps and gave it a tap all round with a leather mallet, tightened everything back up. After that it was completely cured.

When you say "wobbly" do you mean bars flapping or what specifically?
Check rear tyre for true as well, and check front to back alignment (straight edge down each side of rear tyre should have front wheel in center of these to give correct tracking).
Spindle clamps right way round.
If its on the center stand with the front wheel off the floor in the steering smooth or notchy?

While you are checking things, try the swing arm as well. I would guess that you have checked the tyre pressures?

Are your tyre pressures at the right spec? Had a slight wobble problem with my 750 a few months ago. The front tyre was at 24 psi and should have been 28 psi. I was surprised how this effected the bike.

if nothing wrong with tyre / pressure/ ballance then loosen all yolk bolts, bottem and top and bearing adjuster, pump the forks a few times,(yes they will move up down in yolks) set stanchion hight again then tighten from the bottom up.

I got the tyre removed and there was an inner tube fitted and it had a bit of a bulge on it. The inner tube was removed and the tyre fitted. Still a very slight kink in the tyre but a lot better.

CB750 F2's have tubes fitted as standard on both wheels if you have fitted a tubeless tyre with out a tube this cant be done as the comstars fitted to F2's do not have tubeless rims fitted so a tube less tyre will not seal as it should. You can fitt a tubeless tyre but it must have a tube.If this is so the front wheel is not the correct one fitted to the bike.
