I've just bought the above bike and among the list of things to do is replace the rear caliper unit (hamfisted previous owner has sheared the bleed nipple).
My question is which other model caliper will fit? (it's the one piece type which includes an integral plate to the rear axle). I'm looking at a second hand unit on ebay which states it's for a CB900, it looks compatible but I'm not keen on spending out if it doesn't fit.

The cb750 SoHc F2 will fit as will what the USA guys call F3 (just a later F2!) check out UKpete, he may have a spare, I cannot remember how many I gave him in a job lot of stuff, but its possible. Pm him and ask, hes a sound guy. cannot remember about the cb900 , but I am sure someone will know.

Brake set up on my F2 looks the same as my old 900, as do front brakes. Yes they were just as crap too!

Is it worth trying heat and an easy out on the nipple?

I had the same problem with my swinging arm, I used a small stud extractor and the sheared off bit came out easy as anything. A set Draper extractors was about 4 quid from my local motor factors.

The rear caliper from the CBX1000ZA & the CB900FZ & FA are the same. I never had a problem with the back brake on my standard F2...if anything it was too good, especially with that sized disc & leverage with the length of the brake lever.
