Yes I think I was very lucky to discover it so quick,  Sent wife and kids to outlaws for the night didn,t want to take any chances found at 11 at night and for once being a builder came in handy had loads of sand next to garage.
With regard to fuel line I am a bit picky with things like that and understand problems with ethanol eating everything in site try to stick to v max if pos on the old bikes but bike has sat a while with normal fuel in. The fuel line was purchased from local bike shop sold as fuel line so what do you do who do you trust ? Has proper made me nervous plus I also had 4 bikes in garage my VFR and 3 classics which as you
all know are not easy to replace. But all said and done these are only metal you can,t replace your family so now I feel a guilty putting them at risk.

Hi Guys, Thought I would let you know about this one. At the moment I have the carbs of my 750 the tank was put back on bike with about 3 gallon of fuel left in. I have a pipe from tank to the tap about 8 inches long due to where the tank outlet is.
Anyway Sunday night the bike unloaded the tank into my garage The pipe had fell in half, This pipe was purchased from a local bike shop
with a famous name, It was only fitted just over a year ago when inspected it was cracked all along its length this included the length from tap to carbs. I thought I would put this out to warn others to keep a beedy eye out I don't want this to happen to anyone else,
Not only the danger but the clean up took hours.
Anyway I hope this helps even if only one Cheers and be safe.
PS. what is the best fuel pipe to buy. This has scared me!!!

Story so far, fuel pipes off y piece One year old from local bike shop perished ? One carb stripped can,t believe how much s**t in there,
needle set at 4th notch from top, fuel t piece between carbs has ptfe tape over o rings but must admit had no leaks, will clean everything
up reassemble with needle set in middle see what happens before I spend any money,
Was going to put back together and use standard air box, But as K2-K6 said wondering because mains are 120 should I go a notch above middle to compensate, Not sure in my head if this is relevant struggling to get my head around it so more opinions the better.
Thanks,
PS side cars good at island :)

Thanks Mick/Bitsa, Good to hear from you Mick hope alls well.
Need to make the right decisions lads so here it is.
Plugs out 124 sooty 3 good ?
Carbs off mains are 120 slows are 40 would I be advised to replace main jets and needles? When I removed carbs left them full then checked amount of petrol in each bowl all virtually same but will check float levels again.
Want to get this right so all help is appreciated Please remember even though been around bikes over 40 years I am a builder so don,t tend to think right at times with mechanics.
Last thing best place to buy and quickest. Thanks

Out on 750 today f1 engine, Just not quite happy with running, She is running on 120 mains with ram pipes can't remember what the slows are. Thinking of taking it back to stock 105 mains 40 slows replacing standard air box.
Have seen David Silvers sell a carb repair kit pattern parts was just wondering what the views are on these kits before I splash out.
Thanks in advance.

Thank again Florence, Just had a play centred the wheel up had a look in the Haynes I think its basically a bush about 12 to 14mm long with a disc attached to it about 40 odd mm dia that covers the bearing seal, lining the sprockets up the wheel measures centre  Most brob available through Mr Silvers, Just want to get the thing on its wheels , Got a problem with front wheel the speedo gear is missing not sure if these are available. Not many being broke on flea bay and not sure what other models used the drum brake.
Got a parts book on the way find them better than manuals at times. Should be a nice little fun bike for local. Maybe won't seem as quick as the one I rode in the 70's.

One last thing anyone used a colortune on there 750 found my old one and was going to give it a try.

Tricks & Tips / Rusty Bits

Thought I would pass this on it may help someone.
Had some shock bushes rusted on to frame, 1st thought blow lamp hacksaw. Instead I got a die just larger than spigot but enough to cut a thread in the bush and hey presto 5mins just peeled what was left off. What do you think has anyone done this ?.

Cheers Florence, I think I've sussed it, I think [not sure] the bearing cover/spacer on sprocket side may be off another model or even  bike  though it fits it offsets the sprocket about 20mm to far in to the wheel middle also the spindle with the chain adjusters and castle nut seems to be 25mm to long on it shank, Have checked swing arm all seems to be true could do with a dimension between swing arm where spindle fits. Hope this makes sense Thanks.
