Misc / Open / WORD OF WARNING
« on: June 04, 2013, 11:16:35 PM »
Hi Guys, Thought I would let you know about this one. At the moment I have the carbs of my 750 the tank was put back on bike with about 3 gallon of fuel left in. I have a pipe from tank to the tap about 8 inches long due to where the tank outlet is.
Anyway Sunday night the bike unloaded the tank into my garage The pipe had fell in half, This pipe was purchased from a local bike shop
with a famous name, It was only fitted just over a year ago when inspected it was cracked all along its length this included the length from tap to carbs. I thought I would put this out to warn others to keep a beedy eye out I don't want this to happen to anyone else,
Not only the danger but the clean up took hours.
Anyway I hope this helps even if only one Cheers and be safe.
PS. what is the best fuel pipe to buy. This has scared me!!!

« on: October 04, 2012, 05:37:44 PM »
Had a strange one today, The last time out on bike she started to run a bit rough so got around to having a look today.
Found the new inlet rubbers I bought about a year ago so thought I would fit them as old ones a tad hard, Removed carbs now for a full check and tune while there off, guess what removed float bowl on number 4 and main jet was inside bowl ? has anybody heard of one falling out before?

Will fit back to bike tomorrow set up and vacuum have a feeling she is going to run ok again.
Cheers Tom.

Quick question, Is the starting point for air screw on F1 1.5 turns.

« on: August 14, 2012, 01:39:58 PM »
Hi all, Its in the back of my mind to pos sell my Seeley which is I would say is at least 95% what it should be, I know this is a very rare bike but am also of the opinion things are only worth what people are willing to pay. I wonder is there anybody out there has an idea what it may be worth and how would be the best way to sell it.
Please I am not sure if I will sell just can't make up my mind so mulling it over.

« on: June 27, 2012, 09:21:44 PM »
Just replaced stanchions this afternoon with some nos ones have had for a while, Made the mistake of looking in 3 different manuals at amount of oil and guess what they all vary. Can you help with cc's for an F1 please. sure have normally used about 215cc ?
Also noticed the one oil lock had 2 quite bad grooves at the top I would presume this is from a previous ham fist and not from the rebound spring. Have replaced lucky had a couple knocking about.
