Booked for a few days around Ireland but am finding information regarding toll roads and charges a bit confusing!
We will be leaving Dublin, through the toll tunnel (where I am reasonably sure charges apply to motorcycles) , on to M50 and then the M4 towards the M6.
I see can't find anything definite regarding motorcycles so if anyone has a little local knowledge regarding toll charges and payment, I would be grateful.

Does anyone remember a publication from the early Eighties called "On Your Bike"? This was a weekly magazine that built up into "a step-by-step guide for every bike owner on how to maintain, repair and improve your bike" over several years probably... During the recent nice weather, I got around to reading a couple of the issues that I had bought from the local charity shop and was surprised/amazed that it gave full instructions on how to hotwire a bike, including how to remove the seat in order to gain access to the relevant part. And then in an issue a couple of weeks later, it gave instructions on how to break steering locks "if you lost your keys" No surprise that bikes get stolen. PS Anyone recognise the bike model? I thought it was a 400/4 from the tank, but not from the side view - sorry about quality of photos

Hi, just found this under my 400/4  - first thought that it was the battery strap but that is still intact. What other things are held in place with this sort of strap? Thanks

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I have inherited a Kappa top box but unfortunately the press release button is sticking and will not return.
I thought it would be an easy job to remove the lock and investigate but can find no way to remove it. There is a small retaining screw in the box which I have removed and allows the lock to wobble slightly but not detach. It looks as though it should slide down and out, but it fouls the release button...
Any suggestions would be welcome as this is driving me mad!

Maybe a stupid question,but is a lithium battery (such as YTX9-BS EXIDE LI-ION LITHIUM MOTORBIKE BATTERY 12V ELTX9) a suitable replacement for the 400/4 ?

Hi,
I'm going to be doing a short break from W.Yorks down into Norfolk, along the coast and on to David Silvers before returning home via the Peak District, but I'm struggling to find any information about good routes/roads to incorporate in my route planning.
Are there any members out there who have local knowledge or who can suggest any routes?

Hi All, just found out when trying to replace damaged cover that the front indicator lens cover is slightly smaller diameter than the rear one on my '77 CB400. The new cover is advertised as fitting my bike so I'm wondering if this is this normal or has one been replaced at some stage and if so what is the correct diameter?

I have a '77 model and my friend has a '79 model - his has a "pass" switch on his left side controls but mine doesn't. Did Honda change these between the F and F2 models, or has one of us got a replacement fitting?

I've recently fitted a replacement downpipe supplied by Motad to cylinder 4. After approx 400 miles, the pipe has taken on a brown tinge and there is mottling to the top of the pipe.
After contacting Motad, they have told me that is unavoidable due to the new pipe being stainless steel and the older replacement downpipes are mild steel.
Has anyone else had this problem? If this is a known "feature" of their pipes, I would advise anyone thinking about fitting them to bear this in mind as it completely ruins the look of pipework.

Hi,
Can someone tell me if there should be some sort of stopper fitted to the underside of the silencer? (maybe to stop the centre stand fouling it?). There is a slot in a bracket on mine which I think something should fit in. If there is something messing, any ideas of sizes or where I can get one?

I'm looking for a replacement silencer for my 400 and Feked.com came up.
It appears the same as the one that DSS sells and I was wondering if anyone has bought this and could give me their opinion of the quality?

Hi, this is probably a daft question. I've just got round to removing my tax disk holder which was held on via the side reflector/ headlight bolt. When trying to screw the bolt back in, it just pushes straight into the headlight shell. Is it possible that I might have disturbed a retaining nut in the shell?

Thanks to a sweet little old lady who decided she need to knock my bike of its stand instead of parking in her own car parking bay (  ), I need -amongst other things - a new number plate. Can anybody please tell me what is now classed as legal? I'm wanting it to be exactly as original but is that OK? And can anyone recommend a supplier?
