Is the part highlighted in the section of the parts diagram below a foam pad (or similar)? Nothing installed in my bike.....

CB350/400 / Airbox removal!

I'm sure there is a technique to remove this over complicated contraption from the frame but for the life of me I can't see how.
I have it loose and both the air filter intake and the carb oval tube are removed as are all (?) bolts.

Anyone got any tips?

(BTW, I wanted to remove it as it is the only rusty part on the bike and I need to get some other bits powder coated. What seemed like a good idea at the time, has now escalated!!

CB350/400 / DS Pattern silencer

Hi, Is it possible to fit the silencer to a 400/4 with the down pipes installed or is it best to work from the silencer back to the cyl head?
I ask as I'm struggling to get the silencer 'aperture' (where the captive nuts are) over the frame loop. I have managed to sort the packing sleeve out on the silencer but I'm struggling to get the unit into position with the down pipes on the bike.

Mmm, somewhere (probably in the bin!!  ::) ) are 2 parts from my fuel tap - the conical nylon part and spring. Does anyone have a fuel tap (or just those parts) they would like to part with?

I'm curious to know why the replacement toolkit bag has 2 small clear pouches on it. Any ideas?

CB350/400 / Speedo trip reset shaft thread size?

I now have my rather grubby Rev and Speedo slocks dismantled to the point where I can lavish a bit of care on them. The trip rod on my speedo is made of aluminium and is so badly corroded that is bends with ease. Does anyone know the size of the L/H thread that this attaches to the mechanism? 3mm x 0.5 x LH?? I may have some BA equivalents somewhere and so will knock up a s/steel rod to replace this corroded part once I have the size.

CB350/400 / Fuel Tap Strainer

OK, 1st post  ;)

Pondering why not much fuel is getting to the carbs necessitated the removal of the fuel tap only to find this mess.
Can I assume this is because of ethanol in the fuel? Anyone know if the replacement kits for the strainer have ethanol proof rubber seals etc?
