Yes, I agree with Mike, get the frame done and then put the wheels on (not using that swinging arm though  :( :() and then at least with a rolling chassis you can move it around. Everything else bolts in or on after that.

Yep, I just looking at the photo and about to say the same Paul. Mine is an F2 and has footrests on the frame and not on the swinging arm, thank goodness!!. Whoever thought that was a good idea at Honda needs shoooooting  ;D ;D

Welcome to the forum Craig. Good luck with your project, it doesn't matter how long it takes as long as you get there in the end and enjoy it along the way.

Get your Mrs to go to Boots with your sidepanel.  Women are supposed to be better at comparing shades of colours than blokes.  That part of their brain is bigger apparently,  at the expense of the reverse parking part.  ;D

Ask Nurse Julie which Maybelline nail varnish shade is correct for the F1 red.
Haha, your not gonna believe it Mike but I have never had to match Ruby Red. The red nail varnishes I have here are all quite dark in comparison to the real thing. If it were me, I would walk around Boots with a side panel and find a match that way  ::) ::)

Yes Mick, I can see the difference in colour now. So on the 2nd pic, the 400/4, what's that pickling on the bottom crank case, is it a lacquer?. It must have something on it, as after all those years I would have expected it to be all oxidised if it were bare alloy.

Just the top crankcase and the rocker cover had silver paint......(and the clutch cover, sprocket cover and alternator case of course)......... everything below the seam between the crankcases was plain alloy.

Mick.
How can that be, the top and the bottom wouldn't match? ??? ???

Originally the crank cases were painted and lacquered.

Maybe 'scam' was not quite the correct word originally Roy, just maybe 'bloody dodgy'

Agree Roy but I remember seeing it advertised previously at circa 10k last year, even one of the photos was used back then when it was advertised by a trader.
