That’s axactly what I thought gromitdog. I wondered if it was just after riding around on my touring bike.

That is interesting on the proper gearing numbers. I didn’t get out on the bike yesterday not weather in the morning so decided to fit new fork seal that seemed to be leaking. (Can’t believe somebody put the one seal upside down) ooops!🤭🤫!   I am now starting to doubt myself with mph/rpm, wouldn’t be the very first time I have been wrong.😂

I haven’t had the speedo or tachometer calibrated or refurbished other than new faces and painted, so cannot confirm accuracy. It maybe slightly above 4000 at 60mph. I will check tomorrow if the weather is kind.

Just had a look at mine it looks like 36 rear. So the least teeth on the rear the faster for same engine rpm?

Yes indeed Ian, the poor old “Brit bikes” never stood a chance!

Yes Ian seemed to be the only bike on the road yesterday morning touring up west. Brough of Birsay Orkney for other people’s benefit. Didn’t like to pop along without warning. Next time I’ll give you a shout. Give us a shout if you get the 350 out, or even the 400!

It maybe hovering about the middle somewhere, but I had a lovely 75 mile ride on my trusty old 550 this morning. Since restoring this machine I can honestly say this is a very enjoyable middle of the road machine (even with its PD46A carbs)! Certainly wouldn’t swap for no modern “crotch rocket”!

Is £250 for a saxophone that was once owned by Adam Ant a good price?
They will throw in a stand and deliver

I looked at this for a couple of minutes, but it was first thing in the morning. CLUNK! 😂😂😂

Nice run out tonight 38 miles. Interesting monitoring voltage at battery during run. Had broad range from 12.4 to 15volts, I guess that’s the regulator acting on demand, mostly it sat at 14.4volts. Not sure if that would be normal.

Interesting to try to purge from bleed nipple back up to master cylinder! I haven’t tried this method but no reason why it doesn’t work and saves on any bleeding, big syringe required! NURSE!!!

I have similar problem in my Matchless restored 22 years ago, can’t even remember what type of sealer/liner it was but it’s not looking so good now. Will have to be stripped sometime. Good winter job!
