I’m about to fire up my rebuilt 550 for the first time, but I’m developing a paranoia about the cam chain slipper guide. I know for a fact that the tensioner is properly seated, but I’m having one of those self doubt moments over the slipper guide. I know it’s the right way up (it’s marked ‘UP’), but now I’m beginning to doubt if it’s the right way round!
The chain runs in the centre of the tunnel between the tensioner and the guide…correct? I’m starting to believe iv’e run the chain between the slipper and the barrel, which is impossible isn’t it? Is it actually possible to assemble the engine and get the cam in if I’ve got it wrong?🤔

I’d like the reverse engraved type for 7 digits.

Just got my registration through for the imported and renovated 73 K2 500.
About 5 weeks from initiation to being given a number, including a vehicle inspector visit.
I think that’s prey good…isn’t it?

Anybody know of a source for Vesrah gasket kits, apart from Vesrah Tokoyo direct? They require a min order of 5No and a potential wait of 6 months.
My preference is to purchase a single set from the uk if possible, but if sufficient interest is shown I’ll acquire the min order and sell on 4 sets at around £85-£90 each.

Help please. Just completing the V55/5 and I’m wondering how I declare the NOVA number. The 1-44 guidance notes provided by VJMC no longer corresponds numerically with the latest V55/5 document as the numbering system is out of sync.
How do I declare the Nova. Is this an entry on the form or a simple accompanying letter?
I have the completed V55/5, VJMC Dating letter and cheque prepared, it’s just I don’t understand how to add the Nova number!

I cleansed my tank recently, but my liberal use of WD40 to protect the paintwork has done great job to release whatever product was securing the tank trim. Is there a preferred product to reattach the trim, or is replacement trim supplied with an adhesive activated in hot water?

I’m just seeking some advice on my tank prep please.
The plan is:
Currently added 5 litres of acetone and two handfuls of 10mm pea gravel. Soaked for 4 days with regular agitation.
Then drain and add 20 litres of DEOX-C made up with boiled hot TAP WATER to filler neck. Or should this be de-ionised water? The instructions don’t say.
Leave for 48 hours or so with regular agitation then drain
Rinse with 5 litres of deionised water and dry with a heat gun or hair dryer.
Rinse with a few litres of diesel.
Fill to brim with petrol
Install a line filter and go for it?

Just thought I’d showcase my new carbs from Gerben. Bought for a new cash strapped project to start on completion of the 550. His work is just brilliant and I’d recommend him for his replacement/exchange service.
Definitely better than my efforts.

I’m about to attempt a tank badge restoration. Does anybody have any tips on method and paint?
I could be wrong, but it looks like the entire is gold anodised with Matt black paint infill? Or is it gold paint with black infill?
Any knowledge and tips greatly received.
