This popped up on Pinterest. I don't remember seeing this before. Does this also solve the discussion on position of clutch cable guide?[attach=1]
-
That's where I put the one a member here gave me - I had issues with it contacting the tank. I have the correct part now so in the winter I will fit it and see if it works out better.

Yes it does and yes that helps hugely, just been out and checked but I did fit it there and it’s bob on. Good find though as there simply aren’t any piccies anywhere if it in situ where you can see it properly. Top find, well done and thanks

That was a good find Tayside, well done.

I can't be 100% sure where the cable clamp is as I can't blow the pic up, it looks like it's on the back right bolt not the outer bolt, am I right?
-
That's what it looks like to me Ken.

I just looked at pics of the bike I restored a couple of years ago.
Here's a pic of the clutch cable guide as I dismantled things; the bike had sat on a shelf since 2002 and I don't think it was tampered with previously.

This shows it more clearly

That position would take the guide more to the left and away from the petrol tank - that looks correct imho.

That’s where mine sits
