CB750 / K2 4 into 2 exhaust (DIY)
« on: September 01, 2016, 07:23:13 PM »
i am going crazy with the idea of "transforming" the 4-1 in the pics below to a 4-2.
I am trying to see whether or not anyone has attempted this and with what result?
Eventually i would need a 2 into 1 and a couple of muffler too.

I would consider part exchange

CB750 / Charging test
« on: July 17, 2016, 06:53:23 PM »
Hi, any quick link to how to test if the system is recharging the battery on K2.

I don't have an ammeter just a regular tester.

Thanks

CB750 / throttle not returning
« on: July 15, 2016, 09:48:00 PM »
As per subject line, my throttle is not returning freely.
The twist grip stays in the open position unless i twist it back.
Not sure if the problem is at the handlebar or carb mounting.
What's the first step you recommend.

Thanks

CB750 / not starting with push button
« on: July 07, 2016, 01:00:13 PM »
Good day, I am struggling to start the bike with the push button.

The bike (k2) starts easily with the pedal and all lights, indicators and horn are ok.
I have had a look at all the wires to see if any shorts on the frame but nothing seems wrong.
I guess it doesn't recharge the battery either.

HINTS
Starter relay clicks so I assume it works fine.
When I press the start button i hear the buzzing noise but no cranking.
Battery is full (14.5v) but as soon as I remove the charging cables it slowly drops to 12.2v then around 9v once i turn the key.

Not sure if it matters but a few weeks ago I had to rewire the ignition switch, could this be the cause?

Help please,
Thanks

CB750 / 4-1 to 4-2
« on: May 08, 2016, 12:17:14 AM »
Good morning,
a very simple question,
is it possible to adapt this 4-1 (photo below) into a 4-2.
I really like the look of the exhaust on both side but cannot effort a 4-2 or 4-4.
Thanks

CB750 / Top yoke welding?
« on: April 24, 2016, 07:37:57 PM »
Hello, Ive just realised that I have a tiny line in the top yoke and I am sure when I tighten it on the forks it will crack.
Can it be Mig welded?

CB750 / TEST RIDE #1
« on: April 23, 2016, 02:45:50 PM »
Good day,
Today I have taken the bike (k2) for a test ride.
Still need to adjust a few things.

1 The bike runs fine on the first part of the throttle then it struggles (unless I open the throttle very gently)
2 Both front and back end feel not stable (quite stiff).
3 At traffic light it's quite smokey.
4 After replacing for the 3rd time both oil seals the RH side fork still leaks.

these are the issues I would like to sort out first.
Can you help?

CB750 / Carb synchronising issues
« on: February 26, 2016, 05:15:39 PM »
Hello,
I've been trying to get the carbs balanced and after a while I could not get a better result than the one in the picture below.
What could I be doing wrong?
Does the carb 4 variance means something wrong with engine pressure or leak?

Thanks

CB750 / Carb setting
« on: January 21, 2016, 05:17:55 PM »
Good day, I am struggling to do a proper job with carburettors.
Below is a link to a video I posted on utube.
https://youtu.be/9RgCqNbQ1aI
The problem is when I open the throttle.
How can I get from this to the stage below.

CB750 / Exhaust pipes DIY
« on: January 16, 2016, 11:10:03 PM »
Hello,
I was looking to buy a 4-2 or 4-4 to replace my 4-1 exhaust.
Price is a huge obstacle so I started to think of doing it by myself.
I have found a few videos on YouTube like this https://youtu.be/v8mMQbEkr8w.
My question is what materials work best and what size tubing is needed (inner and outer diameter).
Has anyone else attempted this before?

Thanks

CB750 / Front fork assembly
« on: January 08, 2016, 06:04:11 PM »
Good year,
I have replaced the seal on both forks but I am in need of help.
I have followed a very easy process reassembly the inverse way as I disassembled it all.
My issue is the part in the picture number 14, its quite a thick ring between the seal and the circlip.
I have been trying to ensure that the circlip locks in its position but i am struggling, i have "punched it down" but not all the way; before I make a mess I thought I could ask for help.

please help!

CB750 / Front brake splitter
« on: December 07, 2015, 12:17:25 AM »
For appearances purposes I need to reroute the main brake line from the middle (2) to the external feed (3).
My question is will this effect the functionality of the brakes?

Thanks

CB750 / Insurance on frame number
« on: November 27, 2015, 02:10:27 PM »
Hello, i am stuck in this catch 22 situation.
I need insurance (and MOT) to register my cb750;
unfortunately my insurer (on my BMW R80) has asked me for an extra £65 to cover the CB for 14 days.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper "on frame number" insurer.

thanks

« on: November 25, 2015, 11:55:15 PM »
Hello,
I am trying to sort out the poor running of my bike, (not much response when i open the throttle) I have given the carbs a good clean but i am not sure about the right setting also I would like to check the valves to see if things improve.

What would you check first?

CB750 / fork oil
« on: November 25, 2015, 11:36:10 PM »
I ve realised that the front forks have little resistance, perhaps a lack of oil.
What oil and how much of it should I use to replace the old one.

thanks
