Great old photo Ted! In the days when we did get significant snow falls! Some of these old cars were great in the snow, Austin 1100, Austin 1800. Front wheel drive and narrow wheels.

I made do with a Pullover my Mum knitted from a pattern - no jackets needed for me back  then.
I was working at Laporte Industries in Stallingborough/Immingham area as there were developing a new process for the manufacture of Titanium Dioxide.

The flat where I was living with a couple of students was one of two bungalows built on the flat roof of a Supermarket & Chippy near the corner of the road opposite shops & Post Office.

Never had any issues with my car that  I parked down the side access to the rear - the Supermarket was burgled a couple of times when cigarettes & booze was stolen.

I've looked on Google Street View and the place has been demolished for flats. TBH it was a pretty run down area hence why the rent was so cheap. We used to go into Grimsby to drink at The Angel PH or the Tivoly Tavern.
