Title: New member from Cornwall.
Post by: csx355 on December 11, 2017, 04:57:46 PM
Hi all - been lurking for a while and have finally taken the plunge. I have a few 70's throwbacks including a 400/4 up and running and a basket case CB550 K3 (I think) that I know I'm going to need help and advice with when it finally arrives. I'm also working on a 1977 Z1000a1 at the moment. I seem to rescue bikes rather than restore them but it keeps me out of trouble. The 400/4 I acquired as a finished article which was unusual.

Well that seemed to work although the 'fake path' message threw me.  Here is a pic of the basket case as well.

I just need to arrange collection.

Hi Mike thanks for the welcome - The 400/4 is up and running and ready to rock - I had a couple when I was 18 to 21  and it's taken me 35 years to get one back in my life.

Hi, welcome to the forum from another 400/4 and K3 owner.
The 400/4 looks good and the K3 is far from a basket case and looks a good starting point.

Half an hour's spannering will have it ticking like a swiss cheese watch

It's going to have to wait a little while before I get to beasting it with a spanner -

Firstly I got to pick it up - it's in Cambridge and I'm in Cornwall!

Secondly there is a small matter of a 1977 Kawasaki Z1000a1 that I'm 85% through rebuilding - trying to turn this  [attachimg=1]
into something like this

Sorry if these are in bad taste, I will try and make up for it when I start on the 550 ;-)
