Title: Front Caliper bolts
Post by: sgd37 on March 23, 2018, 04:20:43 PM
Hi all,

Could anyone please tell me what the markings are on the bolts that hold up the caliper pivot arm to the stachion, I lost mine and i dont know what strength they need to be. #20 and #21 in the link.

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb500k1-four-general-export_model14659/partslist/F06.html#results

I can see that in the cmsnl picture they have what looks like a 10 is that a 10.9 or 8.8 grade bolt.

Thanks for your help

They are in shear force, the tensile strength isn't used in this application so anything 8.8 and above is way stronger than needed. I use stainless A2's in mine.

Cheers for the answer. I like it because it's the cheapest option :)

Makes you wonder why though they opted for 8.8 on most of the bolts in shear.
