Hi all , I joined the SOHC Four US site before realising there was a UK one!
Anyway, currently I own a Yamaha XJR1300 '99 SP in rare race colours and decided to build a cafe racer from a CB550 F2 '77
It was a barn find, as such it's in a poor state but nonetheless this was never going to be a quick fix project. It's more a nut and bolt rebuild with the final result being a cafe racer.
I started a blog www.acaferacerisborn.wordpress.com which shows progress and images etc.
Look forward to getting to know a few of you and hopefully gain some valuable advice allong the way
:-)

Welcome.
I usually try to surf the .net "New Member Intro" board and invite the obvious locals over here. Must have missed you (sorry)
Put your location in your forum profile so that people know where you are (once this post has sunk down the rankings)

Cheers Steve, will do.

Hi Sherlock,
I'm in Ringwood, just down the road from you! I have a stock 1978 CB550F2. It would be interesting to put the two next to each other when yours is finished. Looks like a great project.
Good luck with the build! :)
Steph.

Hope your accident was not too bad and your on the mend, nobody like to hear about a fellow biker being in a bike accident

Hi Sherlock,
Likewise, I hope you're on the mend after your spill.
Blog looks great and I will be following very keenly; I'm just down the road in Poole and have decided this is the year that the boxes of bits in the shed finally get turned into something tidy. Love the Cafe Racer idea and hope to have the time (and nerve) to do something similar myself later on.
