I use that very same qx oil in all my bikes. Never had any issues.

Saw that one as well today at Kempton. It's been on eBay for weeks with no takers.

Will do, at least it doesn't seem quite as onerous a task as I first thought. Thanks for your advice.

CB350/400 / Hole in bottom crankcase
« on: June 19, 2016, 07:58:19 PM »
Hi all
I have just bought a 400/4 from a deceased estate which is in pretty good shape having undergone partial restoration by the previous owner before he passed away. The big issue with it is that he seems to have used an over length bolt on the lower left engine mount which has pierced the lower crankcase. I have tried repairing it using the metal epoxy but it's still leaking badly.
So my question is can I change the lower crankcase without a total stripdown or is it possible to invert the engine and remove the lower crankcase without removing the barrels head and cam etc.
If not then I guess I either go for a complete rebuilt (not really keen on that option) or look for a replacement motor.

Hi Noella

VJMC dating certificate, proof of Nova registration email and the completed form along with mot and insurance. I did send pictures of the bike showing the frame and engine numbers ( not necessary but recommended by the VJMC)

Hi Noella

Just registered my 500 K2 with a VJMC dating letter - no issues at all and they turned it around in little over a week.

I agree with John. Their semi synthetic 10w40 is cheap as chips and I use it in all my bikes.

I did wonder if that was the case as I didn't remove the old bushes so I decided to get the Dremel out and enlarge the opening which seems to have done the trick.

CB750 / CB750 K2 lower rear shock bush

HI All

I have a 74 UK supplied K2 that I bought needing a few jobs to finish. One of the missing parts were the lower rear shock bushes so I bought part numbers 40548268000 form DS but they don't fit. The supplied bushes measure 22mm OD and the bush housing measures 22mm ID. I have checked the bushes on numerous models on CMS website and they all seem to be the same. Cant quite work out why the bushes and the hole on the swing arm are different sizes. Can anyone else shed some light.

I'd keep that one if I were you James, nice looking bike and in my opinion one of the best sohc fours. I've one similar with just over 5K miles and its by far the nicest one to ride that I've owned.

Hi Pablo

I think that is exactly it the earlier bikes are in my opinion far better looking than the K7 variant.
