CB350/400 / Cb400f2 tank rebuild
« on: August 06, 2018, 06:56:20 PM »
Hi to all,
Had an F2 in Red, which i plan for a complete restoration this winter. As original tank is in good condition for the age of bike, i decide to keep it as is and store it. A friend gave as gift an old tank, so decide to restore that one and in the colour i like more... Parakeet yellow
😊. After All the work in and Out of tank we came to the step of... Decals... Decide to order from Diego REDICE from here, to support him and the forum. So make the order of a whole set including the warning stickers, Diego make me a very good offer. After paint the tank, the first try to fit the decals was not a succes... Email Diego for the trouble and he work his Best to supply me another set with also a improvement (2 stripes together with clear coat) and send them with NO EXTRA Cost! Second set went to a proffesional guy for this kind of work and fitment was perfect! I have to say again via this forum a BIG THANKS to Diego REDICE for his proffesionality and Best custom service! Tank is finished and looks amazing! The rebuilt of the bike Will start slowly this winter. All the best to all team!

I couldn't find a VESRAH anywhere for this engine and I wouldn't pay the silly money for an OEM set but once again, couldn't find one anyway. I'm not precious about what make of gaskets I use on my own bikes. As long as they fit and more importantly, as long as I fit them correctly, that's good enough for me.

4into1 is US has the Vesrah set. About the rest  you said i agree with you  :)

I used the same for my 500 restoration 2 years ago,no problems so far. Yes the oil pump rings are not in the kit.
The reason i asked you, is that i want to see what is best for my future 400 restoration, probably next year.
The OEM gaskets probably is the best ,but price goes 5 or 6 times more.Don't know about VESRAH or something else.

keep up the good work on the bike!
