Hi, recently joined and apologies as I am sure I am going to re invent many topics  :) :)

However as a starting point I am interested in wheel rim widths for my 400-4.going cafe racer route with Avon tyres? and wondering on maximum wheel rim widths .
My project currently has 100 section front , 110 rear  Avons fitted, albeit flat, on standard width rims which look decidedly marginal to me !
Research on t'internet has suggested 2.10 front and 2.5 rear, possibly 2.75 rear?. Clearly the tyres fitted need wider rims to make safe / aesthetically pleasing but wondered what advice you can give re widest wheel rim/tyre combination .

Hi, newbie here, love the wheels/tyres combinations, could I ask what rim/ tyres you managed to fit without clearance problems . my base project has 100 section front and rear on standard rims which look iffy !
I was hoping for 2.5 (poss 2.75 ) rear and 2.15 front ?

About to embark on a 400-4 project , going to be modified, cafe racered, butchered * delete as applicable , so purists look away now !!
Will be asking lots of questions that have probably been asked/answered many times before , so apologies.
