Paraffin is a lot less flammable than petrol. I always used Paraffin in the past, but now I ride less miles I just use aerosol chain cleaner and chain lube.

Yes, always apply lube to the inner run of chain. 👍 Lube applied to outside run of chain just gets flung off easily. Skoti, you make me nervous using petrol to clean chain , then using naked flame on camping stove! 🤔 4

CB500/550 / Re: Oil Pressure Switch Intermittent« on: May 07, 2024, 12:32:24 AM »
Oil pressure will reduce as the oil gets hotter and "thinner". It's worth checking the switch and the oil pump.
If they are not the problem you might have a bigger problem developing. 6
CB500/550 / Re: Im a diesel idiot !!!!« on: May 06, 2024, 08:17:14 PM »Personally I would consider draining out the tank and start with new petrol - diesel is not good for the piston rings. Is that true Ted, or just a feeling? One litre in a full tank of about 18litres can't make too much difference. Not recommended, but not disastrous. 7
Out & About / Re: exploring Scotland« on: May 06, 2024, 01:45:41 AM »One of my favourite rides is from Tyndrum heading east to Killin and then turning off at LixToll towards Aberfeldy, lunch in historic Kenmore by the castle gates and then into Aberfeldy turning right for Crieff over the high road and then back to Tyndrum and Oban.. Yes, that's a lovely route, and the roads for me to get there. Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a good place to stop. 👍 On the nadgery little road on the other side of Loch Tay is the Cave where Monty Python filmed the killer rabbit scene in Holy Grail! 8

I'd never heard of Ailsa Craig outboard motors before. To me it's an island just off the West coast of Scotland that is a major source of granite for curling stones. Not heard of the veggies either!

Something strange is going on with some of the Gallery pictures. The first 8 or so pics have suddenly jumped up to 1800+ views but other pics are near normal numbers of views.
Any clues? 12

A couple more places to see in Scotland are V&A museum and Captain Scott's ship RRS Discovery in Dundee, the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, the Forth Bridges (Biker's Cove in South Queensferry for pitstop and viewpoint).
