CB750 / Re: Yoshi style pipe in the UK??
« on: February 07, 2016, 08:24:36 AM »
Thanks All,
I've been looking at the Carpy ones but was a bit concerned with postage and import duty.
I'll drop him a line and see what deal we can sort out.
Cheers

« on: February 04, 2016, 12:01:57 PM »
I'm after a set of Yoshi styled baffled pipes for my CB750 F1.
Is there anywhere UK based that i can buy a set?
Happy with good condition used pipes if available.

CB750 / Cam chain wear and damage
« on: December 30, 2015, 06:07:54 AM »
I dismantled the top end of my 750 F2 engine today.
It was pretty obvious the PO had never tightened the cam chain.
Lots of rub marks and worn burred aluminium down the sides of the tunnel and all tensioners well and truly worn out.
The bit that concerns me though is the slot where the front tensioner locates into the crank cases as it has a lot of wear and has burred up into the joint between the crank case and the barrel.
So the question is can i use as is or should i attempt to repair the worn slot? if so what do people recommend to use?? or do i need to find a new set of crank cases?

CB750 / master cylinder rebuild kits
« on: December 22, 2015, 12:22:02 PM »
Hi All,
I have a bit of a problem.
My CB750 is a bit of a mix of parts from an F1 and F2.
I need rebuild kits for both master cylinders but don't know which ones to buy.
Can i identify from the markings on the master cylinders?
Front one is marked        3 C 2 11/16
Rear one is marked         14 (theta symbol)

I've seen several different kits listed for the years and unsure what differences there may be.
Also is there anywhere else apart from DSS that stocks these in the UK at a reasonable price?
Thanks in advance

Adrian

Thanks all for the warm welcomes to the forum.
It would seem on closer inspection that most of the bike here is actually an F2.
F2 front forks and wheels. Double front disks and hydraulic rear brake.
Some of the engine casings are also black rather than silver as the F1 should be.
I'm now rather confused as to if this is an F1 that someone has upgraded at sometime in the past or one of the first F2's.
Not sure when the F2 was released.
There are some F1 parts on there for sure like the headlight bracket.

oh well. Onwards and upwards. still trying to find all the bits for the engine to see if she runs.
Then the Cafe Racer customising can begin.

« on: September 24, 2015, 06:35:34 AM »
Wondering if my old bike is out there somewhere.
Blue Honda 400/4, family owned since new.
Sold about 8 years ago to an older gent in Thanet Kent.
Would love to know if it's still on the road or even up for sale again as i'd love to buy it back.
Cheers

Hi all,
Thanks for the join to your forum.
I've just bought a 1976 CB750F1 for restoration.
Bought as a non runner with most of the left hand side of the engine taken by previous owner as spares for his other bike.
Bike has been fitted with F2 comstar wheels and front end.
Now begins the hunt for the engine parts to ensure she will fire up and run.
Bike was originally yellow so plan eventually to return it to that colour and probably cafe racer it a little.
Will eventually be on the lookout for side panels along with a few hundred other parts.
Located in Ramsgate , KENT, UK.
Cheers
Adrian
